Ensure that all design changes or modifications are reflected in the updated estimates and budget. - Cost Control & Monitoring:Monitor project costs during the execution phase to ensure they stay within budget.
Identify and report any discrepancies or risks that may impact costs and offer solutions to mitigate them. - Reporting:Prepare regular reports on project costs and estimate updates for management and clients.
Provide detailed documentation and breakdowns of estimates for audit and review purposes. - Risk Management:Assess potential risks and uncertainties that could affect project costs or schedules.
Propose mitigation strategies to manage cost-related risks and ensure timely delivery within the budget. - Site Visits & Data Collection:Conduct site visits, when necessary, to collect relevant data and assess project conditions that could affect cost estimates.
Gather and analyze data from previous similar projects to inform accurate future estimates.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related fields.
- Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience as an estimator, preferably in infrastructure projects.
- Skills:Proficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, ProEst, Sage Estimating).
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
Familiarity with contract documents, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting and coordination with teams and clients. - Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills to ensure precise and accurate cost estimation.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues, assess risks, and propose solutions in a timely manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications: Certification from a recognized institution, such as AACE International (Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering), or RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), is a plus.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of local construction regulations and standards in the UAE is beneficial.
- Software Experience: Experience using project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar platforms.
Working Conditions:
Environment: Office-based with occasional site visits as required.
Location: Al Quoz 3, Dubai.
Hours: 8 working hours per day, Monday to Friday (5 working days per week).
